Siamo Recruitment is currently recruiting CNC machine operator to join our client who are a privately owned specialist engineering business trading on a global basis, supplying precision machined components to the aerospace, energy, medical and rail sectors.
Their strength is the ability to engineer and manufacture highly complex machined components in a wide range of materials both hard & soft utilizing all necessary techniques.
Through growth, they are looking for experienced Turners – either setting/operating or operating as part of their extended growth plans. Our client is based in Wolverhampton WV6, with excellent transport links.
Pay: 15.00- 16.00ph dependant on experience
Hours: Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00 (Friday\’s 15:00)
Key Responsibilities of a CNC Machine Operator:
Responsibilities:
– Preparing and setting CNC machines to perform turning operations- Setting of lathes for the operators.
– Training of less experienced operators.
– Working on various lathe types, including twin spindle and multi-station machinery (Doosan and DMG).
– Program adjustments with Fanuc and Siemens controls working to the given setter packs.
– Working on a range of parts from small batch to long runs.
– Preparation and loading of raw materials and parts onto the machines
– Inspect and measure finished products against requirements
– Checking and maintaining machinery daily to ensure functionality
– To comply with all Health and Safety regulations and instructions
– To comply with all relevant Standards, including ISO 9001 and AS9100.
Requirements:
- Fanuc/Siemens knowledge
- Experience as a CNC setter or operator
- Able to use precision measuring equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings
- Mechanical aptitude and good mathematical skills
- Good communication skills
- Team player with the ability to take on individual tasks as required
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets
Skills and Experience Required:
- CNC machining experience: Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills, including experience with 4-axis horizontal mills.
- Knowledge of CNC programming: Understanding how to load and run CNC programs.
- Experience with inspection equipment: Using tools like verniers, micrometers, and calipers to verify part dimensions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team: You will need to be self-motivated and able to collaborate effectively.
