This is an exciting opportunity for an Accommodation & Support Officer at Coops Foyer, Wigan.
Coops Foyer is accredited with the Foyer Federation, which means we adopt an asset-based approach called Advantaged Thinking, encouraging young people experiencing homelessness to aim high, dream big, and fulfill their ambitions!
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate Accommodation & Support Officer who shares our commitment.
Working Week
The role involves a 35-hour week, Monday-Friday, with negotiable hours between 8am-8pm. Flexibility is appreciated to meet the needs of the young people in the Foyer.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a comprehensive supported housing management service at the Foyer.
- Organize and manage time effectively, adapting to the varied needs of young people.
- Handle application processes via housing gateway, manage voids, license fee payments, housing benefit payments, and advise on housing and welfare matters.
- Make a positive impact on young people\’s lives, helping address homelessness and supporting their journey to independence.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed as an Accommodation & Support Officer, you will have:
- The ability to engage with a diverse range of young people.
- Tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people.
- Experience of the welfare benefits system.
- Knowledge of housing management.

Benefits
We offer a salary of £25,625 for a 35-hour week, 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), and a comprehensive benefits package including a contributory pension (up to 8%), Healthcare cash plan, and various discounts on leisure and shopping.
While based at Coops Foyer, you will have access to Youggle House, our wellbeing and meeting space in Birchwood, Wigan, and may be required to travel there for team meetings.
