Essential Duties And Responsibilities
An experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance activities across local facilities, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.
- Maintain mechanical plant equipment and process machinery, including lifting equipment, high-pressure steam systems, boilers, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Perform mechanical breakdown repairs on all plant and process equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and operational continuity.
- Oversee boiler operations and high-pressure steam systems with adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Support and mentor apprentices by promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
- Proactively report any safety or operational concerns to line management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements And Preferred Skills
- City & Guilds or HNC-qualified or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0-1 years of experience.
- Time-served mechanical fitter with post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Proficient in steam, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fire prevention systems.
- Strong fault-finding and preventative maintenance skills.
- Quick to learn and understand complex mechanical systems.
- Clear communicator across all levels of the engineering team.
- Organised with a logical, solutions-focused approach.
