Summary
Freedom Networks is seeking a qualified candidate to perform LV & HV switching, isolation, earthing, identification of work points, and safety documentation duties on construction and asset replacement projects within the distribution network.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan outages, produce switching programmes, and liaise with System Control.
- Make dead, isolate, and earth high voltage electrical networks.
- Ensure a safe working environment during high voltage operations.
- Identify and release apparatus for work by issuing Safety Documents and Permits to Work.
- Conduct high voltage testing and fault location.
- Re-energise the network upon completion of work.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and instructions on site.
- Implement safety rules, instructions, standing orders, and procedures.
- Prepare project files per company policy and CDM regulations.
- Perform Risk Assessments at all project stages.
- Maintain statutory records, certificates, licenses, and notices.
- Support a safety culture proactively.
- Plan and oversee work activities for timely completion.
- Accurately complete records such as as-builts and work sheets.
- Coordinate shutdowns and permits with control centres.
- Collaborate with site managers, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and mentor trainees.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience with SAP duties on 11kV – 132kV networks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Current/Recent SAP authorisation on UKPN network at 11kV – 132kV.
