Description of Job

St Barnabas is an all-age, mission-focused, charismatic evangelical church in the vibrant and diverse Mill Road area of Cambridge.

It offers huge potential for a vicar who has a heart for:

  1. Prioritising mission and church growth, with a desire to see people come to know Jesus.
  2. Leading us in a season of deepening our discipleship and fellowship, and enabling pastoral care, so that both new Christians and mature believers are nurtured and discipled.
  3. Strengthening our offer for students and young adults, and ensuring we continue to reach and develop children and youth.

We are therefore praying for a man or woman who is:

  1. a visionary, apostolic leader and inspiring communicator who can help the church to discern God’s call, set the direction of travel and take others with them on the journey, empowering all to use their gifts.
  2. someone who relates well to different ages and demographics, and who is willing to work in partnership with others in the city.

We can offer a supportive and committed mid-sized church family and staff team, open to change and with a heart for growth, and a great church building at a strategic location.

We’re excited to be all in for Jesus during this time of vacancy, and we are looking forward to what God wants to do next – is He calling you to lead us in this new season of our church’s life?

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on Friday 1 November
