Job Description:
The School of Arts, English and Languages seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Film Studies. The successful candidates will have experience in filmmaking and a strong track record of recent research outputs aligned with the School’s research strategy. Responsibilities include teaching filmmaking on undergraduate Film Studies and Production pathways, and the MA in Film, as well as contributing to School administration and outreach activities.
About the person:
- Have or be about to obtain a PhD in Film/Screen Media.
- Possess a record of internationally recognized research outputs and/or publications in Film/Screen Media practice, appropriate to career stage.
- Ability to make funding applications.
- Knowledge of the broader film and screen industries.
- Relevant teaching experience at least at degree level in key film production crafts: Directing, Producing, Scriptwriting, Editing and post-production (including motion graphics, VFX, and colour grading), Audio post-production, and sound design.
