Job Title: Highways / Streetlighting Operative
Base Location: Leeds
Salary: Up to £25,839 (DOE) + Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme + overtime available
Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Thursday 7am–3pm, Friday 7am–2.30pm
Contract Type: Permanent

What will I be doing in this role?
Responsibilities
As a Highways Operative, you’ll help deliver vital street lighting and highways electrical work, ensuring public safety and energy efficiency. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Installing and maintaining street lighting, signposts, and signage
- Diagnosing faults and repairing electrical equipment
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and safety testing
- Operating MEWPs and HIABs safely and professionally
- Working to high standards under health and safety regulations
- Delivering excellent service to our clients and the public
What do I need to be successful in the role?
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, safety-focused, and happy to work outdoors year-round. You should also have;
- Comfortable working at heights (in MEWPs)
- Previous experience in civils or street lighting
- Full UK driving licence
Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are;
- HGV Class 2 licence
- IPAF or PASMA certification
- G39 Electrical Safety Training
- Experience in public lighting, highways maintenance, or infrastructure works
