We are seeking a Football Communications Executive to support the Club’s external communications, with a focus on football operations. This role involves managing matchday media, press conferences, player signings, and media relations, while also assisting with wider Club communications.

You’ll work closely with players, coaches, and the media to ensure clear, consistent messaging aligned with the Club’s brand. This is a great opportunity for a communications professional with strong media skills and a passion for sport.

This is Your City

Your Impact

1. To assist in the management of all communications in regard to football operations; match day media, press conferences and media appearances.

2. To support in facilitating media interviews in accordance with the Club’s commitments with broadcasters / governing bodies, and as and when appropriate to promote the club and service external media needs.

3. To provide support and briefings to players, coaches and staff regarding all activities and issues relating to the Club’s activities.

4. To act as point person for all media accreditation duties at the Club.

5. To attend men’s or women’s first team matches. You may also be involved in a number of Academy fixtures where required.

6. To support on the announcement of player signings across the club and wider group.

7. To facilitate filming and media requests at City Football Academy to include First Team, MCWFC, EDS, Academy and commercial.

8. To build relationships with external media. Filtering media enquiries amongst the wider team.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • A knowledge/awareness of the UK sports media scene.
  • Possessing strong communication skills that are clear, engaging and appropriate, mindful of tone and corresponding to the Club’s brand guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Having a clear sense of purpose to drive action and work collaboratively.
  • Highest level of integrity and discretion.
  • Communications experience, writing and producing collateral, working on communications campaigns, managing events and handling the media
  • Communications related degree or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable

  • A sound knowledge and passion for sport, ideally football.
