We are currently looking for a skilled and proactive Payroll Advisor to join this growing payroll function. This is a brilliant opportunity to play a key part in managing and enhancing client relationships while ensuring payroll is processed accurately and efficiently. You ll be hands-on with day-to-day operations and also contribute to the ongoing development of your team and processes. This role is ideal for someone with at least two years of client-focused payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on managing your assigned clients payroll cycles, ensuring tasks are delivered to deadline and that internal procedures are followed.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time, while monitoring progress through our internal systems.
  • Work on payroll-related projects and help streamline procedures in line with our focus on continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with a client portfolio, including managing queries and billing matters.
  • Support the professional development of colleagues by identifying training needs and delivering coaching when appropriate.
  • Play an active role in team supervision by offering guidance, performance feedback and support.
  • Handle all correspondence and queries related to your clients payroll, escalating any concerns as needed.
  • Ensure both employer and employee enquiries are managed within agreed timeframes.
  • Take ownership of new client onboarding, overseeing the entire implementation process from start to finish.
  • Strengthen your understanding of pension processes and administration as part of your wider development.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a similar payroll role, ideally within a client services environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Confidence working to tight schedules and delivering to a high standard.
  • The ability to work well independently and contribute to team success.
  • A keen eye for detail and comfort with numbers.
  • A positive, collaborative approach and the ability to build rapport with colleagues and clients alike.
