We’re supporting a well-established marine manufacturer based in Chichester who are looking to add a methodical and organised Purchaser to their operations team. This is a process-driven role focused on keeping systems, stock, and supplier records running like clockwork.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you\’ll be responsible for overseeing purchasing activity, maintaining accurate stock levels and data, and ensuring internal systems and records are up to date. This is ideal for someone who enjoys structure, efficiency, and being the go-to person for all things process and purchase related – and a whizz on excel!
Key responsibilities
- Raise purchase orders for production stock, office supplies, and one-off requirements
- Provide monthly reports outlining outstanding orders and upcoming deliveries
- Support the Warehouse & Shipping Manager to ensure goods are booked in correctly
- Monitor order confirmations and delivery times – ensuring goods arrive in full, on time, and to spec
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure consistency of part numbers and descriptions
- Update internal systems and provide regular purchase order reports to the management team
This role would suit someone with experience in an admin-heavy operations or purchasing environment, ideally within manufacturing or production. You\’ll need to be confident managing systems, tracking processes, and keeping on top of the finer details.
