The Music Teaching Assistant will support a lead teacher in delivering Music Explorer classes (ages 5-7) at the Costello Music School. The role will include supporting students as they work through the course — learning to read music, exploring instruments, and singing in unison and as soloists.
The role will also involve developing into Arts Award support for our Year 6 students (age 11), who are part of a leadership programme supporting the group alongside this course.
There is potential to grow your understanding of our music classes and progress to teaching independently through our CPD and additional courses with Trinity College London.
Requirements
We are seeking a music teaching assistant to help deliver Music Explorer classes at the Costello Music School. The ideal candidate will have experience with music teaching, reading music, and be comfortable singing with children.
As an assistant, you will support the lead teacher with the potential to develop your understanding and progress to independent teaching.
A full DBS check, right to work in the UK, and teaching qualifications are required. The application process provides more details.
You must be available every Wednesday during term time from 8:00 am to 8:45 am at a primary school in Brentwood, Essex. There will be further opportunities as the school grows.
