As part of their ongoing growth plans, our client, a well-established wealth management firm, is looking to add additional resources to their paraplanning team and are recruiting for a Trainee Paraplanner.

Reporting to the Senior Paraplanners, the individual will be based out of offices near Chester-le-Street and the role will offer hybrid working, if desired, after an initial training period.

As a Trainee Paraplanner, supporting up to 10 Advisers, your role will be varied and as you develop, you\’ll gain experience across more complex work. This opportunity offers development within a paraplanning capacity and will appeal to career Paraplanners.

Responsibilities will include:- Obtain and verify information from the Adviser Liaise with the Adviser and Client as appropriate, to complete any required information Gather ceding scheme information from third parties Use checklists to ensure quality of documentation is suitable Prepare suitability letters and reports, in liaison with administrators Take responsibility for updating Client files and system records, as required, in respect of suitability letters, reports and ceding scheme information Liaise with Head Office administration centres, as appropriate Work within and stay up to date with template changes and advice notes Support other team members, when required Attend forums and workshops

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have some previous paraplanning experience
  • As a minimum, must have report writing skills as a Paraplanner
  • Have an understanding of pensions, investments and protection products
  • Possess good IT skills and be familiar with various research tools, ideally FE Analytics and Voyant
  • Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, with a focus on quality
  • A personable and confident communicator, who can challenge Advisers – appropriately
  • A solid team player who will enjoy participating in social events (fully expensed)
