Grid Automation offers its customers a complete range of innovative products, systems and services covering design and manufacture, as well as commissioning and long-term maintenance of Substation Protection and Automation solutions.
This includes, amongst others, Protection relays, control systems, cyber security solutions, device management, asset performance, etc.
Grid Automation North Europe Commercial Team is responsible for co-ordination and execution of all commercial and technical activities relating to the Grid Automation Business in the UK, Ireland and Nordics Markets.
A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Technical and Commercial Manager within the North Europe Commercial team for the software-defined based solutions portfolio “GridBeats”.
As the Senior Technical and Commercial Manager, you will responsible for customer interactions and activities for the whole North Europe region. This includes technical presentations, business development, co-ordination of tendering activities and ensuring customer satisfaction.
You will manage the right strategy for sales within your area of influence. Lead the actions for the growth in your area to achieve quarterly and yearly targets in full compliance with GE Vernova Values.
You will report to the North Europe Sales Leader.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop business opportunities and conduct significant campaigns to win software-defined solutions, within the “Gridbeats” portfolio, focused on Cyber Security, Digital Substations, Device Management, Asset Performance Management and Zonal Autonomous Control.
- Build a go to market strategy for the software-defined solutions, within the Gridbeats portfolio.
- Actively promote and develop the software-defined Gridbeats business with utilities and industrial customers of the region.
- Can autonomously present the GridBeats portfolio and lead technical and commercial discussions with key stakeholders in the field.
- Leverage the GE Vernova – Grid Solutions experience and capabilities to increase the Gridbeats pipeline.
- Utilise current market data to prepare regional strategies and marketing campaign initiatives and promote Gridbeats brand awareness.
- Work closely with the tendering team to develop innovative and creative solutions. Give support to Gridbeats tenders in the region.
- Engage early on all key deals to proactively promote the Gridbeats portfolio.
- Negotiate and close very complex and high value deals in alignment with direct sales staff.
- Establish commercial contracts and agreements with customers to support Service agreements.
- Achieve order intake targets following the strict ethical code of the company.
- Attendance of trade shows, seminars and conferences.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Significant and demonstrated years of experience in sales and business development in the North Europe region for software-defined solutions.
- Significant and demonstrated years in the Grid Automation, Digital and Grid Services business.
- Experience in a similar position with a network already in this sector (grid/digital/software solutions).
- Highly active listening skills.
- Flexible and resilient to support teams.
- \”Hands on\” profile to lead deals and maximise winning strategy.
- Willingness to travel is required; for remote candidates, regular visits to the Stafford site will also be expected.
