Job Summary
Phlebotomist – Band 2 1 x 14 hours – Permanent
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the phlebotomy team working across the hospital site.
Under the direction of the Sister/Unit Manager you will help us to ensure that we provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for our patients.
You will need to possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A polite and courteous manner towards patients and relatives will be essential for this role, together with your ability to work under pressure, as part of a team as well as organising your own workload.
Previous phlebotomy experience is essential due to the post being a 6 month fixed term contract. Inhouse training will be provided as a refresher to ensure skills are up to date with Trust policies/procedures. You must be able to work flexible hours, up until 8pm in the evenings and some weekends.
Main duties of the job
As a Phlebotomist the post holder will collect routine blood samples from patients as and when required and also deliver blood samples to collection points/or the laboratory at specified collection times. You will be required to work within all areas of the Trust following appropriate training, whilst maintaining a high standard of quality patient care and staff morale through personal example, good conduct and appearance.
