Ambulance Care Assistant Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to patients lives. My client is currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport their patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities. If you have experience of caring for people with proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then I would like to hear from you! You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and at times, discreet. A good sense of humour and local knowledge of the area you are applying to work in will also be an advantage. Please ensure that your application relates to the essential criteria in the person specification. Applications for this vacancy will be to work across North West and Central London, Salary / shift detail / Salary £25,556 / 4 on 4 off – all shifts including early, mid, late, nights and weekends / 12 hour shifts. Main duties of the job: The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude, as well as teamwork. You will work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types. You need a full UK manual car driving licence, with one year’s driving experience. (Please note that a maximum of 3 penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence only.) Your role will start with a paid training course (8 days Monday – Friday, once completed one months shifts). The training involves clinical training to be a \’First Person on Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform is provided. During the training course it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided so you will need to consider the costs and travel expense of attending these venues (usually in Essex or North London). You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above. The organisation delivers Patient Transport Services in Greater London, Essex, Kent and the home counties.
