What does a CGI Houdini Artist do at Hogarth?
The CGI Houdini Artist is a versatile artist who works across multiple areas of 3D production to create high-quality content for our FMCG clients. With a strong technical foundation and creative eye, the Generalist is involved in modelling, texturing, lighting, and rendering. This role requires experience with CGI pipelines, familiarity with generative AI tools, and the ability to collaborate across departments to deliver polished, brand-aligned work.
Responsibilities
• Creating high-quality 3D assets for FMCG campaigns, including modelling, texturing, lighting, and rendering.
• Collaborating with other CGI artists, retouchers, and art directors to integrate 3D assets seamlessly into final compositions.
• Utilising generative AI tools to enhance workflows and drive creative innovation.
• Ensuring all 3D assets meet technical and creative standards through rigorous quality checks.
• Troubleshooting technical issues and optimising workflows to meet project deadlines.
• Staying current with industry trends and advancements in 3D production tools and techniques.
• Contributing to the improvement of CGI production pipelines.
Reporting lines and key stakeholders
This role reports to the CGI Lead and works closely with the global CGI, retouching, and art direction teams.
Requirements
• Expert proficiency in Houdini, with additional experience in 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
• Proven V-Ray Experience
• Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly) and their integration into CGI workflows.
• Experience in modelling, texturing, lighting, and rendering.
• Knowledge of production pipelines and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced production schedules and manage multiple
projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
