Ecolab is looking for a SHE Manager for Weavergate Plant. The Safety, Health, Environmental Manager will be responsible for the chemical processing plant and supporting operations. Legislative compliance for all SHE aspects of a top tier COMAH site as per HSE regulations and requirements and experience in managing Integrated Management Systems ie. ISO14001, ISO45001.
Main Responsibility will be:
The SHE Manager is a member of the site Management team at the Weavergate plant and will work closely with Regional SHE teams and share knowledge. Working with the Regional SHE teams across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance with COMAH and ensuring site standards laid out in the COMAH safety report are maintained and updated regularly.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental operating permits granted by the Environment Agency and other site permits.
- Prime interface for HSE/EA and other Regulatory Authorities.
- Emergency Duty Manager for the Management of Major Accident Hazards.
- Personal Health & Safety and Process Safety lead for Weavergate plant.
- Lead in Process Safety assessment and analysis (HAZOP and LOPA knowledge preferable).
- Overseeing annual Occupational Health monitoring programme.
- Development and maintenance of the Occupational Health/SHE Policies relating to use and prescription of safety equipment, permit to work, contractor management but not limited to.
- Waste management oversight across the site, waste provider audits and control.
- Incident management system stewardship and root cause analysis.
- Leadership of Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) processes and other schemes and audits according to Ecolab requirements and standards.
- COSHH assessments and administrator for site.
- Preparation of monthly management reviews and annual internal/external SHE reports.
- Integrated SHE Management System ownership and maintenance ie. Velocity, ensuring procedural compliance to ISO systems.
- Identification of new or revised applicable SHE legislation and ensuring compliance against existing legislation and owner of SHE Red-online system.
- Oversight of haulier compliance with ADR regulations.
- Training management including auditing against competency for all SHE matters.
- Ownership of safety elements of product introduction processes eSprints system.
- Facilitation of Employee Health / Safety / Environmental Committee.
For this position, it is ideal to be based in Northwich or with reasonable access to the Weavergate Plant. Reporting directly into the Plant Manager.
Some European travel required to other Ecolab sites.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in safety related discipline, preferable.
- 5 years’+ experience in safety management field, especially in the Chemical Industry and/or Process Safety.
- TPM or LEAN manufacturing experience preferable.
- Able to identify priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Able to use own initiative, be pro-active, self-motivated and adapt to changing priorities and environments around SHE.
- Completion of site monitoring programmes in compliance with regularity requirements.
- Reporting and actioning monthly KPIs regards to SHE in weekly management meetings and monthly OGSM.
- Management of plant IMS systems.
- Able to work in a close team of differing knowledge and as an individual.
- Able to work seamlessly across different departments and external parties ie. HSE.
- Able to communicate and work seamlessly with functional groups across the site.
- Must be able to work in teams with strong people management skills.
