Salary: £10.00 – £12.21 per hour + Paid Overtime

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday, 40x guaranteed hours per week – Overnights required

Simon Acres Recruitment are looking for a Driver\’s Assistant for a well-established furniture manufacturer based in Yorkshire, delivering beautifully crafted furniture directly to customers across the UK.

We’re looking for a reliable and hard-working Driver’s Assistant to join our client\’s delivery team, supporting our client\’s drivers in bringing exceptional service to our their customers.

Role Overview:

As a Driver’s Assistant, you’ll work alongside our client\’s delivery drivers to help transport and handle furniture items safely and professionally. This is a physically active role that involves heavy lifting, teamwork, and customer interaction, so a positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the driver with loading and unloading furniture at the warehouse and customer locations

  • Safely handle and move items, taking care to avoid damage

  • Help navigate routes and maintain delivery schedules

  • Communicate politely and clearly with customers on-site

  • Ensure all items are placed in the correct rooms, as per delivery instructions

  • Support with basic assembly or unpacking of furniture when required

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the delivery vehicle

  • Adhere to all health & safety guidelines and procedures

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with manual handling/heavy lifting

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

  • Friendly and professional with good communication skills

  • Flexible approach – willing to work overtime when needed

  • Previous experience in delivery or removals is a plus but not essential

  • Willing to learn and take direction from senior team members
