At Smailes Goldie, we are proud to be one of the region’s leading independent accountancy firms, and we’re looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of accounts for clients, including lead schedules.
- Assisting with month-end processes, including reconciliations, journals and the preparation of management reports, VAT returns and other key control accounts.
- Maintaining in constant communication with other team members in terms of progress or any potential issues which may arise.
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Process sales and purchase invoices.
- Demonstrate professionalism within the office environment whilst communicating with clients verbally or in writing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements as well as upholding confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications & Experience:
We are looking for applicants who are AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience from working in a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles as well as being proficient in Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is proactive, detail-focused, and passionate about delivering an outstanding service.
