Job Summary
Moog Aircraft Group is looking for an apprentice trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder to join the team at our facility based in Wolverhampton. Our focus is on designing complex mechanical products that are often bespoke and high profile. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerances, essential in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities Include
- Operate and set Manual Studer machines S20/RM250 and CNC machines (Studer S33/S31)
- Machining exotic and hardened materials
- Perform own 1st off inspection and complete quality documentation
- Precision manual land grinding to achieve limits of 0.00005\”
- Set and run multiple machines/processes
- Work in a rotating shift pattern (Double Dayshift)
Key Skills and Experience
- Recognised engineering apprenticeship
- Mate grinding experience
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing
- Knowledge of machining techniques and tooling
- Attention to detail and process improvement
- Proficiency with inspection techniques/equipment to achieve drawing tolerances
This role involves shift work, including nights and overtime when requested. The candidate must be self-certified and hold a quality stamp after the qualifying period.
Security Clearance
