BOP Technician
The BOP Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance, service, repair and pressure testing of Blowout Prevention parts and components.
Work Location & Schedule
Location: Longview/Kilgore, TX shops, reliable transportation required. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly). Job Status: Full-time. Work Schedule: Local 5/2. Reports to: BOP Manager.
Compensation & Benefits
Wage Range: $23.15 – $33.08/hr (tiered based on experience). Bonuses and advancement opportunities.

Skills & Abilities
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: 1-5 years proven work experience servicing BOPs or related; prior BOP experience preferred.
- Technically minded, self‑motivated with order desk and consumable materials management experience.
- Valid driver’s license, meet company insurance requirements, and pass background check, physical and drug screen.
Duties
- Servicing all blowout preventers, Ram and spherical type, including associated valves.
- Perform and document all pressure tests for these components after service.
- Obtain and maintain an inventory of consumable materials and parts.
- Organize and maintain the facility, testing station and BOP storeroom.
- Aid management in developing a preventative maintenance system and training additional BOP technicians.
- Assist field personnel with job‑related problems associated with these components.
- Coordinate with the Quality Manager to ensure all API and company requirements are met.
- Perform field service as required—troubleshooting, repairs, nipple‑up, and servicing.
- Maintain and operate hydraulic torque wrenches.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
