M4 Recruitment are working with a national \’road marking\’ business who are looking to add to their team in Thatcham.
As an operative, you will safely perform a variety of tasks associated with the installation, removal and maintenance of thermoplastic and cold applied road traffic markings.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive, operate and maintain paint/thermoplastic equipment for application on parking areas, Highways, and roadways.
- Measuring and marking out of project
- Prepping and priming surfaces
- Check performance of the numerous components of various marking equipment including air compressor, auxiliary engines, pumps, heaters, hydraulic systems, paint/thermoplastic/air/water and hydraulic lines; trouble shoot equipment failures and report unresolved problems to assigned staff.
- Operate and maintain hot (200+degrees) thermoplastic equipment for the application of various pavement markings. Operate and maintain thermal lances for the removal of thermoplastic road markings.
- Drive, operate and maintain line marking truck and equipment for applying hot (200+ degree) thermoplastic material.
- Operate and assist in the operation of vehicles, trailers, and equipment, to include backup driving operations.
- Perform manual labour, including the use of hand tools and operate various equipment; drive utility trucks daily; load and unload equipment supplies and materials.
- Assist in the installation and removal of traffic control operations.
- Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
The Ideal Candidate.
- have a full, valid and clean UK driving licence ideally HGV (no need for CPC)
- is able to commute to and from our depot in their own transport.
- is hardworking, reliable, committed with a can do attitude to join our team.
- has the flexibility to work outside of normal working hours, and able to work away from home/overnight if required
This is a permanent role interviewing immediately. Both day and night shifts are available.
