Position Overview
The Weston Public Schools is seeking an Office Aide to support Weston High School. This is a 10-month position (180 days) reporting to the High School Principal. We are looking for a diverse pool of applicants who are inspired by our mission to educate, equip, and inspire all students to achieve their full potential and enrich their community.
About The Weston Public Schools
The Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 1,960 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) – a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 160 students (K-12).
Key Responsibilities
- Embrace the diversity of the Weston Public Schools by fostering an environment of respect and inclusion
- Provide ongoing secretarial and clerical support to the school
- Answer telephones and greet visitors
- Generate purchase orders, bouchers,and CPA forms. Assist in ordering and distributing supplies to staff.
- Act as a liaison to the bookkeeping office and the departments regarding any unresolved issues
- Work with all department chairs on tasks assigned on an \”as needed\” basis
- Assist the Assistant Principal with MCAS administration
- Perform other assignments as directed by the Building Principal, or his/her designee
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma; three years of office experience; demonstrated interest in working with students and in a school environment
- Results driven, with excellent planning and a systems approach to project management
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Expertise in spreadsheets and database applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation and Professional Growth
The Office Aide will earn between $19.72 – $21.07, but we anticipate an increase once the new contract is finalized. This position is represented by the Weston Aides/Paraprofessional Association. Additionally, Weston offers a comprehensive benefits package including subsidized health insurance and participation in the Middlesex County Retirement System. Professional growth is ongoing in Weston and supported through multiple opportunities, both internally and externally.
