The Day Treatment Therapist provides services to children and adolescents who are unable to benefit from participation in academic or vocational services in a traditional school or work setting. The Day Treatment Therapist focuses on interventions designed to reduce symptoms, improve behavioral functioning, increase the individual’s ability to cope with and relate to others, promote recovery, and enhance the child’s capacity to function in an educational setting.
Entry Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be provisionally or fully licensed by the appropriate North Carolina licensure board as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologist, or a Licensed Psychological Associate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides individual/group and family therapy and documents progress towards goals
- Meets with facility-based staff to discuss consumer’s progress and make recommendations
- Monitors consumer’s progress and the effectiveness of strategies and interventions outlined in the Person-centered plan
- Participates in weekly facility-based staff meetings and provides therapeutic strategies and input to staff
- Participates in weekly supervision with Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor
- Re-assesses consumers as needed
- Participates in agency audits and trainings as required
