About the role
As an experienced Social Housing Site Manager, you will play a key role in our Operational Team, working hand in hand with our Pre-Construction, Commercial and Procurement Teams to ensure effective delivery of new build social housing projects across Edinburgh. We are also looking for an Assistant Site Manager for our project at Wallyford, East Lothian.
Key roles and responsibilities include;
- Liaise with our Pre-Con team to ensure projects are ready to hit the ground running.
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure effective management and quality control.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including the client, architects and engineers, as needed.
- Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure effective cost management.
- Produce regular internal and external reports on project progress against the programme.
- Work closely with your Contracts Manager on issues including labour requirements, recording daily labour and reporting on this weekly, etc.
- Ensure clear and effective communication with NHBC, Building Control, etc.
- Work in partnership with our SHEQ team to promote and ensure a strong safety culture on site at all times.
- Use a range of IT systems including Work Wallet, MS Office packages, Project Commander, etc.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the company's Health and Safety policy.

Your Skills and Experience
This role is ideally suited to an experienced Assistant and Site Manager with a background in delivering Social Housing Projects, including flatted developments.
The ideal candidate will be/have;
- Trade background and/or suitable academic qualification within the construction industry, such as HNC, HND, Degree or relevant level of SVQ, equivalent to SCQF level 6-7, combined with a number of years of relevant industry-related experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and safety standards in Scotland.
- Proficient in the use of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Clear and effective communicator, in-person, via email and in meetings.
- Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and ability to adhere to these.
- Able to set clear objectives for themselves and others (in line with the needs of the role).
- Hold a current and valid UK Driving licence.
