Account Executive – Medical Communications

Position: Account Executive (medical affairs/publications/medical education)

Location: London (hybrid – 2 days in a London office)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £30k

Start: ASAP

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful Client Services team! As a member of the CST, you will have the chance to shape your role to fit your strengths and be instrumental in the ongoing development and growth of the division.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects across the full spectrum of medical communications activities, as well as work collaboratively with medical writers and creatives.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop basic industry knowledge and familiarity with industry situations/issues
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Oversee own workload with increasing number of projects, keeping the Account Managers and Account Director informed of progress
  • Demonstrate an ability to both take briefings on project tasks and effectively deliver on those tasks
  • Support, plan, and manage a variety of projects across the full spectrum of promotionaland medical projects, including but not limited to:

-Event support and planning (including congress and supplier liaison, faculty management,venue management, flight and travel bookings, delegate management)

-Communication strategy development and internal training initiatives

-Creative concept and content development (e.g. meeting slide decks and materials for congresses, advisory boards, standalone meetings; scientific slide decks; creative campaigns; promotional and medical materials [printed and digital])

-Patient materials and advocacy

  • Ensure quality control for own work
  • Accurately complete timesheets on a daily basis
  • Exhibit willingness to travel
  • Provide support to Account Managers and Account Director on project tasks for clients
  • Demonstrate proactivity
  • Deliver tasks to a high standard, with an understanding of working within budget and time expectations
  • Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to a client’s style and needs
  • Schedule and support on client meetings and TCs
  • Take effective notes during client calls and meetings
  • Develop a growing knowledge of client needs / their situation/challenges and constraints in order to support the most appropriate and achievable solutions
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal team and external suppliers
  • Produce weekly status reports for clients to keep them informed of project progress
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of how project budgets are created
  • Actively conduct research to support the level of expertise offered to clients
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage and oversee project delivery and client interactions with an ability/willingness to seek support and or guidance when unsure
  • Support Account Managers and the Account Director on proposal development by researching and developing an understanding of the new business process
  • Demonstrate an interest in the client in order to support future client relationships
  • Assist in face-to-face client meetings/new business pitches, with support from appropriate team members

Requirements:

  • Degree (science, preferably life science)
  • Ideally at least 6 months of relevant experience in a medical communications agency
  • High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively
  • Awareness of industry guidelines
