Chipotle is seeking a Kitchen Leader who will learn to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables, and who will train others to become future Kitchen Leaders while upholding quality and safety standards.
The Opportunity
As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is absolutely delicious. You’ll order the food and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders. The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle’s food daily, maintains a clean and organized kitchen, ensures equipment is maintained, and acts as a role model for Crew members. You will promote teamwork and create a great customer experience, staying busy on your feet and helping the team achieve the station’s goals.
What You’ll Do
- Follow Chipotle’s policies and procedures and perform responsibilities such as cooking and prepping food to order and following kitchen procedures to ensure food quality
- Monitor food waste and inventory levels and resolve food quality issues
- Support a strong team dynamic between back-of-house and front-of-house Crew
- Develop Crew members to become future Kitchen Leaders
- Communicate effectively with Crew members and customers to ensure great service and throughput
- Keep the kitchen clean and sanitized
- Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is in good repair; coordinate repairs for malfunctioning equipment
- Ensure the kitchen and Crew meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
- Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and handle Inventory Rotation (FIFO)
