Job Description
Housing Support Leads | temporary contracts/secondment opportunities until March 2027 | 37 hours per week | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum | Grade G | Countywide
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team that will make a real difference to the lives of children and young people in Norfolk.
We are looking for two Housing Support Leads (fixed term or secondment to 31/03/27 in the first instance) who will work in partnership with social care professionals and housing providers to prevent homelessness and improve housing outcomes for children and young people who are unsuitably housed or approaching a planned transition.
This Will Include
- Provide thorough, professional, and timely housing advice to parents/carers, young people, and practitioners.
- Build good working relationships with local landlords, registered providers, and housing authorities.
- Provide outreach tenancy support for young people and families identified as ‘at risk’ of losing their tenancy.
- Reduce the number of children and young people in unsuitable and temporary accommodation.
The Housing Support Team Aims To
- Reduce the number of children and young people in unsuitable/insecure accommodation.
- Reduce the section 17 spend on Homelessness-related activities.
The role may include travel within Norfolk, and you will need to manage your own travel arrangements (mileage paid according to expenses procedures). Your work will involve direct engagement with young people and families, including work in family homes.
