Sector Manager – Home Improvement (DIY) & Gardeining
· Responsible for delivering membership levels to agreed annual targets and budget
· Construct and manage a process for maintaining membership retention and recruitment in line with overall marketing strategy
· Be responsible for creating member networking events (Meet the Buyer days, Webinars & Forums, Exhibition etc) and managing successful outcomes
· Facilitate a minimum of 4 DIY sector committee meetings a year, work with the Chair and ensure participants reflect industry balance
· Be part of the Export committee and promote membership engagement with the process
· Participate and support members at credit forum meetings
· Be the Associations lead contact with HIMA (Home Improvement Manufacturers Association) and ensure that any benefits are sold to members
· Produce monthly sector reports and attend Executive team meetings
· Promote BHETA and associate member business support services
· Attend industry exhibitions and events to support retention and recruitment objectives
· Will have worked in the DIY/Gardening industry in a senior commercial role and will have knowledge and experience of Sales and National Account management
· Will have real passion for the industry and drive to make a difference
· Will have a good understanding of current industry challenges and topics
· Will have established industry contacts with industry Retail/Trade commercial teams
· An individual who commands respect from their teammates and industry peers
· Self- starter, used to working outside of an office-based environment
· Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
· Have strong commercial acumen
· Open, honest and a good team player who enjoys variety
· Ability to communicate at all levels, including Board, and present to large audiences
· Work closely with the DIY steering committee
The role offers a competitive salary package with on target bonus incentives, car allowance, overseas medical insurance, and pension package. Candidates will be expected to have the facility to work remotely from the Birmingham based office but will have desk access and full support from the central team.
