Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) – School of Psychology, UNSW Sydney – Fixed Term (4 years) – Full Time (35 hours/week)
Salary: AU$113,000 – $121,000 plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading.
The role is based in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
About the Role
Contribute to the research effort of UNSW and develop research expertise through defined projects.
Specific Responsibilities
- Contribute independently or as a team member in collaborative research on perinatal mental health.
- Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader and contribute to development of research activities.
- Work closely with lived experience collaborators to shape assessment and intervention tools.
- Support the dissemination of research outcomes through academic publications, conference presentations, public engagement activities, and innovative science communication.
- Undertake discipline‑appropriate research activities such as literature reviews, experimental research, data collection and analyses using appropriate methods.
- Assist with the supervision of research students where required.
- Liaise with national and international collaborators to ensure satisfactory project progression.
- Program experimental tasks using Gorilla or other suitable online task programs.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take reasonable care to prevent impact on health and safety of self or others.
Selection Criteria
- Essential: PhD (or equivalent) in Psychology (preferred specialisation: experimental, clinical or developmental); Affective, Cognitive, Clinical or Developmental Neuroscience or related discipline.
- Essential: Demonstrated ability to undertake high‑quality academic research with limited supervision.
- Essential: Demonstrated excellent data analytic skills, ideally with verifiable experience in longitudinal data analysis, structural equation modelling, network analysis, machine learning and/or adaptive trial design.
- Essential: Outstanding academic writing skills, as shown by a strong track record of publications.
- Essential: Experience in designing, programming and running experimental psychology studies.
- Essential: Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships; evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Desirable: Ability to communicate and interact with lived experience collaborators, the general public, policymakers and students.
- Desirable: Understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Desirable: Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attend relevant training.
