Role Summary: The Community Habilitation and Respite Manager, with support from the Assistant Director of Community and Family Support Services, is responsible for managing and enhancing Community Habilitation and Respite programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receiving services through People’s Arc. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality service delivery, staff supervision, and the overall effectiveness of programs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist the Assistant Director of Community and Family Support Services in the continual evaluation and refinement of programs, identifying new opportunities for service enhancement and growth.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of Community Habilitation and Respite staff.
- Match individuals supported within Community Habilitation to employees who meet their person-centered needs and personality, as well as those of their families.
- Conduct supervision and performance evaluations with staff, providing ongoing professional development and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with individuals supported, their families, and staff to develop and implement programs that promote person-centered, meaningful leisure skills, independence, and well-being.
- Advocate for the needs of individuals supported within People’s Arc, as well as outside human services providers and the broader community.
- Prepare, monitor, and assess the effectiveness of Community Habilitation and recreational plans, making adjustments to ensure optimal person-centered outcomes for individuals and their families.
- Collaborate with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance the support network available to individuals and families.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating workshops, support groups, and community events to promote engagement and awareness of available services.
- Ensure the timely collection and high quality of documentation for Community Habilitation and Respite services, including staff documentation related to training, vehicle safety, mileage, etc.
- Cover caseloads during staff absences or vacancies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies.
Salary: $27.93 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Human Services, or a related field (preferred)
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience
- At least 2 years of experience in community habilitation, respite services, or related fields
- Valid NYSDL
