Position Overview
The stock controller is responsible for receiving, unpacking, and preparing merchandise for the shop floor. He/she maintains the organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of the stock room. The role also includes accountability for stock and inventory control.
Job Description
- Ensure the stock room is organized and clean, enabling merchandise to be ready for the shop floor at any time.
- Monitor all deliveries and upload them onto the store’s system within the required timeframe.
- Execute all transfers, including IBTs, RBTs, faulty goods, End of Season stock, and staff uniforms.
- Investigate and report discrepancies to minimize stock loss and negatives.
- Record and communicate stock levels, slow sellers, and best sellers to the store team.
- Plan and complete checks prior to stock takes.
- Conduct stock takes accurately.
- Communicate effectively with senior stock controllers.
- Sensor, steam, fold, and hang merchandise as required.
- Bring new deliveries to the shop floor.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the store manager, including customer service and selling from the shop floor.
- Work according to given deadlines.
Additional duties and responsibilities
- Participate in and attend all required store meetings and related functions.
- Perform housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed.
- Be available to travel and work at different locations when necessary.
- Maintain standards in line with job requirements and company policies.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
- Work additional hours as required.
- Adhere to procedures for the proper use and care of equipment and materials.
- Complete all duties timely and satisfactorily as assigned.
- Follow the designated work schedule punctually.
- Work effectively with colleagues and management to achieve goals.
