PART TIME JUNIOR MICROBIOLOGICAL LAB TECHNICIAN (6 MONTHS CONTRACT)

Reports to: Quality Manager

Pay: £13 per hour

Hours: 25 hours per week (up to 30 dependant on production needs)

Closing Date: 14/07/2025

Contract type: 6-month temp contract

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality team as we grow and develop our microbiological program. This part-time position will play a key role in supporting our Quality Control operations, with a particular focus on the day-to-day testing of finished and in-process products.

You’ll be working closely with both our Quality Manager and our Microbiology Lab Tech, getting stuck into the practical side of lab work while learning and growing as we do. It’s a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industrial setting, contribute to a key part of our brewing process, and help shape the future of our microbiology work as the department develops.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Sample collections (Aspectic and non)

· Data Collection and analysis

· Plating (Streak/Pour) and membrane filtration

ABOUT YOU:

· BSC in Microbiology/ Food Science or relevant qualification (working towards can be appropriate based on a person\’s study hours)

· Experience with Agar creation, Pour and Spread plates, Microscopy, Gram Stains, Cell counting, Membrane Filtration

· The ability to work weekends as production requires and possesses a positive attitude to a busy work environment.

· Working with GLP standards and Aseptic techniques

· Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

· Able to work independently but also in a small team

· Experience or knowledge of beer is handy but not necessary as you learn a lot on the job!

· A good understanding of the company mission with an ability to uphold company values.
