Essential Duties And Responsibilities
We\’re hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer – Manufacturing IT/OT & SAP SME to lead and support key manufacturing technology systems at our Dumfries plant. This role blends hands-on leadership of local IT/OT infrastructure with subject matter expertise in SAP shopfloor modules including PP, PM, QM, and EWM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain manufacturing IT/OT systems (MES, SCADA, QMS, CMMS, etc.).
- Drive local initiatives in system modernization, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.
- Act as the plant’s primary technical contact for all IT/OT matters.
- Serve as SAP SME, supporting production, maintenance, quality, and logistics functions.
- Translate business needs into SAP solutions and lead implementation and improvement efforts.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The Sr. Systems Engineer provides technical leadership and guidance to local operations teams, contractors, and support personnel involved in IT/OT and SAP shopfloor systems. The role may also lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate activities with regional and corporate IT to ensure alignment, execution, and continuous improvement
Requirements And Preferred Skills
- 8-10 years of experience
- achelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience supporting IT/OT systems in manufacturing (SCADA, MES, CMMS, etc.).
- Ideally, experience with SAP PP, PM, QM, or EWM — if not, training will be provided.
- Proven track record in delivering cross-functional IT/OT projects.
- Understanding of IT/OT integration and communication protocols (e.g., OPC, IDoc, RFC).
- Awareness of manufacturing cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience in matrix organizations and global team environments.
