Legal Assistant Civil Litigation Bexleyheath

We are currently looking for a full-time Legal Assistant to work in our Civil Litigation Department at our Bexleyheath office.

The successful candidate will provide full administrative support to our fee earners in addition to some secretarial support, liaise with clients and other staff as appropriate, to ensure the smooth running of the department.

In time, after adequate training, the successful candidate would have conduct of their own debt recovery and debt litigation files, so this is a great opportunity for progression within the department.

Duties

The role includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Input and updating the firm’s case management system
• Issuing client bills and paying invoices
• Client contact- updating clients and dealing with enquiries.
• Undertake general administrative duties such as photocopying, scanning and filing.
• Opening and closing files.
• Audio and copy typing all correspondence to include letters and legal forms.
• Sending Letter before Claims and issuing proceedings

The Candidate

• Proven experience working as a secretary/legal assistant/credit controller
• Fast and accurate typing skills
• The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise
• Good communication skills both on the telephone and in person
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
