for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
Responsibilities of the Ecologist
The Ecologist will provide ecological advice and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality conservation outcomes, biodiversity net gain projects, and effective volunteer engagement. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing ecological strategies, conducting field surveys, managing projects, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Your passion for ecological conservation and biodiversity will contribute to maintaining and improving sites such as the Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Special Protection Area (SPA), and Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
Skills and Experience of the Ecologist
- Experience in managing medium to large-scale ecological projects.
- Experience in delivering conservation and ecology programmes through volunteers.
- Experience with habitat management techniques.
- Strong understanding of legislation relating to SSSI, SPA, and SAC.
- Experience in land management operations and their impact on facilities management.
- Degree in Ecology.
- Countryside Management Association (CIEEM) Membership.
