Purpose of Role

The PR Manager, Europe will be responsible for managing and delivering all press/media (and communications) activity to position London as a leading destination for setting up and growing an international business among our European investor audiences.

They will work closely with our European trade and investment teams based in France, Germany, and the Nordic region, as well as colleagues in London, to secure positive, earned press/media coverage in top-tier national, regional, business, technology, and occasionally specialist (e.g., life sciences) outlets, across key European markets.
In doing so, they will highlight the city\’s strengths and, where appropriate, showcase the impactful role of London & Partners in driving economic growth.

The main focus will be on France, Germany, and the Nordic region, with some additional time spent targeting secondary or emerging priority markets such as Turkey and the Netherlands.

A keen interest in technology, innovation, investment, and broader business trends is essential, along with an understanding of how to tailor London’s core business and investment messages for European audiences and channels.

Key Tasks

  • Devise and implement proactive business PR campaigns aligned with London & Partners’ strategic objectives, with a particular focus on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and trade across London’s key growth sectors
  • Develop original PR plans and tactics to secure high-impact, earned press/media coverage in key European markets
  • Localise news stories and content to suit European audiences
  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key European national, regional, business, technology, and specialist (e.g., life sciences) journalists – particularly London-based correspondents
  • Manage budgets related to European PR activity and evaluate relevant press/media coverage in collaboration with colleagues
  • Organise and manage European press/media (and occasionally influencer) trips to London when required
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop compelling stories that promote key ‘Brand London’ messages to European audiences
  • Collaborate closely with our European offices to discover stories and develop relevant press/media materials for European audiences
  • Contribute to the overall success of the PR Team
  • Occasional travel to/across Europe will be required

Person Specification

  • Experience working on B2B PR projects or clients
  • Ability to identify and deliver effective PR and communications campaigns across emerging, digital, and traditional press/media, aligned with strategic goals
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling press/media materials (including messaging) tailored to different audiences and channels
  • Experience working collaboratively with PR teams from high-profile partners and stakeholders
  • Customer-first and data-driven approach, using audience insights to inform activity and measure success
  • Experience working in an agile PR/marketing environment and as part of cross-functional teams
  • Innovative and creative problem solver, able to implement plans effectively
  • Adaptable and productive in fast-paced, changing environments with shifting priorities
  • Skilled at maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external press/media networks across London/Europe
  • Clear and confident communicator with a strong sense of direction and purpose
  • Strong project management skills, able to deliver results through teams and monitor performance
  • Supports a collaborative team environment that promotes responsibility and continuous improvement
  • Experience managing external PR agencies
  • Committed to continuous learning and staying current with industry best practices
  • Strong existing network of European business, technology, and specialist journalists (particularly in France, Germany, and the Nordics)
