Role

Dispatch Resolution Officer with Merseyside Police. You will play a vital role in keeping communities safe by dispatching and managing police resources to incidents reported by members of the public via our 999 Contact Resolution Officers. You will work quickly and calmly under pressure, gathering information to enable resolution of issues or to support Police Officers in dealing with incidents, protecting victims and vulnerable people, and making communities safer. You will be part of a team providing an excellent service to the people of Merseyside, answering emergency 999 and non-emergency 101 calls, and making dynamic decisions to determine the most appropriate response to put the community first. You will receive training and skill development to help you perform at your best while working for one of the country’s best performing police forces.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and manage police resources in response to incidents reported to the 999 network.
  • Gather information from callers to enable resolution or appropriate deployment of officers.
  • Support victims and vulnerable people and contribute to safer communities.
  • Answer emergency 999 calls and non-emergency 101 calls and make dynamic decisions on the most appropriate response.
  • Provide excellent service and participate in ongoing training and development.

  • Location: JCC Bridle Road, Merseyside.
  • Employer: Merseyside Police.
  • Contract: Permanent • Full Time – Shift Worker.
  • Salary: starts at £29,109 rising to £31,296; includes a 34.38% equalisation allowance (shift allowance) after training.
  • Hours: 24/7 operation; full-time shift pattern with evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. See supporting documents for specific hours.
  • Training: 14 weeks of full-time hours (36.5 per week) during training with a mix of classroom duties and live mentoring shifts before moving onto allocated shifts.
