Design Engineer – Mechanical Systems (Rotating Machinery) We\’re seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong engineering mindset and hands-on experience in designing large rotating components. This is a technically demanding role where your ability to apply stress analysis, FMEA methodology, and advanced 3D CAD skills will be central to delivering robust, manufacturable solutions. Key Responsibilities Design mechanical components and assemblies for rotating machinery using NX, Inventor, and AutoCAD Produce detailed 3D models and 2D drawings to current manufacturing standards Conduct engineering calculations including stress analysis, FEA, and FMEA Lead and support new product development and design improvement projects Generate technical documentation including material specifications, IOM manuals, and Bills of Materials Apply DFMA principles and contribute to cost-effective design through Value Engineering (VAVE) Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure design integrity and performance Support testing, supplier visits, and customer meetings as required What We\’re Looking For Minimum 5 years\’ experience in mechanical design, ideally involving large rotating parts Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (NX, Inventor, AutoCAD) Solid understanding of stress analysis and FEA tools Experience with FMEA and design risk mitigation Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and design for manufacture Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines A proactive, solutions-focused team player with strong communication skills Qualifications Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) is essential HNC/HND with substantial industry experience may be considered IEng registration is desirable but not essential Why Join Us Be part of a technically driven engineering team working on high-impact projects Opportunity to shape product design from concept through to manufacture Supportive environment with scope for professional development and career progression Competitive salary and benefits package If you are ready to take the next step in your career, apply to – ; TPBN1_UKTJ
