The SMB Group is a highly successful FE college, formed through the merger of Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby.
We are looking for a HGV lecturer with the ability to deliver to and assess our apprentices on our national apprenticeship programme. We would like to invite interested parties with skills and knowledge in maintenance and repair with heavy good vehicles. You may have transferable skills and knowledge with land-based engineering, light vehicle, electric vehicle or alternative powered vehicles, if you have, we would be interested in speaking to you and would encourage you to apply. You may currently be working in an automotive garage setting or even research and development looking for your first job in teaching. You will need a passion for innovation, confident in bringing new ideas to the SMB group and the enthusiasm in embedding new technologies into the learning environment.
Working as part of the automotive team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of an element in the automotive sector and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.
As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
