Are you looking to kickstart a career in the Lighting and Grid industry? Look no further! E.ON is currently seeking a dedicated installation operative to join our team in Wednesbury.
As an Installation Operative, you will be a crucial part of our Lighting and Grid business, supporting Joiners and Supervisors in the installation and maintenance of street lighting columns and signs. Your responsibilities will include providing joint holes, planting lighting columns within the ground, and operating crane hoists for removal.
Other key responsibilities
- Driving general and specialist company vehicles appropriate to the role.
- Carry out risk assessments on site and maintain safe working practices.
- Completion of work to the correct specification and efficient use of materials.
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role.
- Maintain and develop competence level and technical skills to ensure delivery to high standards.
- Attend training as required to maintain knowledge and application of systems and procedures.
- Work unsocial hours when required.
- An understanding of highways lighting business and a general appreciation of the distribution network.
- Achieved NVQ Level 2 – Highways Electrical Work.
- A current NRSWA qualification (units 01 – 06 and 08).
- A current UK driving licence to include HGV (i.e. Class 2).
- Completed CPCS Lorry Loader, or equivalent training and qualification, and experience in operation.
- Flexibility to work on multiple sites across a wide geographic area.
- A high degree of manual dexterity and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- G39, HESA 210 and 214 (G39 and Safe isolation).
- A good working knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.
- A CSCS accreditation via the highways electrical registrationscheme (HERS).
