The Opportunity
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced EHS Advisor to join our Infrastructure Asset Solutions team, supporting a high-profile construction project in the Nuclear & Defence sector.
The role
As a key member of our project delivery team, you will champion a culture of safety, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements. Operating as Principal Contractor under CDM, this role offers the chance to contribute to one of the most complex and critical infrastructure programmes in the UK.
You will play a pivotal role in influencing behaviours, embedding best practices, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Support safe project delivery by identifying hazards, reviewing method statements, and assisting in the preparation and assessment of risk assessments and safety documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and behavioural observations to maintain and enhance a strong EHS culture.
  • Lead and support incident and injury reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Provide competent, practical EHS advice to site teams, supply chain partners, and the client.
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of improvement initiatives, learning from experience (LfE), and workforce training.
  • Maintain awareness of, and ensure compliance with, applicable legislation, licensing conditions, codes of practice, environmental requirements, and changes in industry regulations.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the project and organisation.
  • Support the governance and continuous improvement of site-wide health, safety, and environmental performance.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience working on large-scale construction or infrastructure sites.
  • Proven experience in incident investigation, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and safety legislation relevant to the nuclear and defence sectors
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and IT skill
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all organisational levels.
  • Minimum Tech IOSH membership.
  • UK Citizenship is required due to security clearance regulations.
