Job summary

The South West London Pathology Microbiology department at St George\’s hospital is looking for enthusiastic people with an interest in biomedical science to join our team. The laboratory has state of the art equipment offering full laboratory automation and a vast array of molecular platforms.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will assist the scientific laboratory staff. The duties include specimen preparation and basic procedures in different sections of the laboratory. Some administrative work (e.g. entering sample request details on the laboratory computer, filing) will also be required, full training will be provided. You should have good attention to detail, be able to follow defined protocols, be flexible, highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and be a strong team player fully committed to patient care.

You will be expected to participate in a 24/7 shift system which includes weekend, night, late and bank holiday working as part of core hours.
