Description
We’re looking for a Settlements Specialist to work closely with our Account Health, Home and Small Business Ops teams to support and drive Good Energy’s industry settlement position, both for Gas and Electricity – Import and Export.
You’ll join an exciting team who will work closely with our Metering Operations colleagues to manage our supplier and shipper operational obligations, including managing day-to-day exceptions and investigating issues with data quality. You’ll build rapport and work closely with our key third parties by supporting ongoing process improvement, automation, and better ways of working.
As Settlements Specialist, you’re at the heart of our industry operations, supporting Good Energy’s performance across customer billing, industry compliance and data quality. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with the processes and industry obligations that shape our regulatory performance and customer outcomes.
This makes the role a strong internal stepping stone for future careers in metering, regulatory operations, data analysis, project delivery, leadership, or anywhere in Good Energy where a deep understanding of our operational portfolio is valuable.
Responsibilities
- Managing and enhancing existing processes relating to the customer read journey and ensuring that Good Energy’s Settlement Run performance for both NHH and HH sites across both Import and Export portfolios, is improved and maintained within industry target levels for electricity and gas.
- Provide exceptional Settlements support, helping to identify trends and potential issues that will impact the settlement performances and providing guidance on how to address these.
- Liaising with 3rd parties and regulators to ensure compliance with key industry principles and effective working practices with our data collectors, data aggregators, meter read agents and MEMs.
- Proactively contacting our customers to obtain readings, using both email and outbound dialing, where we have been unable to obtain accurate meter reads, and understanding the importance of this data.
- Supporting during external and internal audits relating to Settlements processes and performance.
- Supporting squad knowledge and capability by continuing to share and develop the knowledge of Settlements and operational exceptions that can impact good settlement performance. Also providing support for future industry changes such as Market Wide Half Hourly and new propositions.
- Working through data received from 3rd parties to update our systems, helping to ensure that our customers receive accurate bills based on their usage.

Hybrid working explained: When and where you’ll be in the office
Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. For this role, we’re looking for candidates who can come in to our Chippenham office once a month / once a quarter, based on location.
We offer both formal and informal flexible working options. Full-time hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.
