5 X Assessment and Recovery Officers Successful Candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check Principal Duties and Responsibilities The post holder will specialise in one or more of the following areas: i. To accurately assess and determine entitlement to housing benefit and council tax support. ii. To accurately assess and determine liability to pay council tax and business rates. iii. To determine the appropriate method of enforcement for recovery of debt. iv. To negotiate repayment arrangements in order to achieve effective and sustainable recovery of debt. v. To attend Court to interview customers, explain process and make payment arrangements. • To deal with customer enquiries either face to face, by telephone or in writing • To maximise income and minimise loss
