About the Role: We are seeking a committed and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people in a nurturing residential care setting in Accrington. This is a key role within the home, offering both hands-on care and leadership to help shape a safe, stable and supportive environment where every young person can thrive. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day care, support and guidance to children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional and social development. Act as a role model, mentoring, supporting and coaching junior members of staff to uphold the highest standards of care. Assist the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the smooth running of the home, contributing to team meetings and planning. Take the lead during shifts, including handling challenging situations confidently and professionally. Ensure safeguarding and welfare responsibilities are carried out in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Support children and young people in line with their individual care plans, helping them to achieve positive outcomes. Maintain accurate records, logs and reports, and contribute to reviews and assessments. Participate in regular training and development opportunities to ensure best practice is maintained. About You: Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential. At least two years of experience working in a children’s residential care setting. Proven ability to lead shifts and provide coaching and guidance to less experienced staff. Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the legislative and regulatory framework for children\’s residential care. Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills. A calm, resilient and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable young people. A full UK driving licence is preferred due to the rural location of the home.
