Job Title: Project Planning Manager (Contract) Location: Southampton Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35) Duration: 8 Months Start Date: ASAP Day Rate: £450 per day (paid weekly) About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced Project Planning Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) decarbonisation refit project in a live operational environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a critical infrastructure upgrade focused on sustainability and energy efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing project schedules, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring timely and efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, and construction teams Monitor project progress, identify risks and delays, and implement mitigation strategies Conduct critical path analysis and resource planning to ensure project milestones are met Prepare and present regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders Support the project team in managing works within a live environment, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operationsEssential Experience & Skills: Proven experience in a project planning or project controls role within M&E, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects Strong technical understanding of mechanical piping and electrical cabling installation Experience working on energy centres, decarbonisation projects, or similar renewable energy retrofit projects.
