Arv requires full-time attention, often due to levels of discomfort throughout the night and requires regular repositioning, soothing and reassurance. At times, he may want a cuddle on the powered carer’s chair next to his bed, and small sips of water. Please note: Arv is 42kg, professional manual handling training provided to ensure you are confident in your ability to support Arv with moving and repositioning. A comfy, specialist chair is provided whilst on shift, with access to tea/coffee facilities and snacks. You will be in Arv’s bedroom throughout the night, tending to his needs as and when required. It is generally a very active waking night shift, although, if Arv is asleep, and all reports are completed, you are welcome to study / read etc. In addition to waking nights, there may also be a couple of day shifts available for those interested in daytime work.
