This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business. What is the role? As a Senior Project Manager at London Gatwick, each day brings unique challenges. You\’ll have the opportunity to lead strategic projects across our entire customer journey. From concept to execution, as a Senior Project Manager, you\’ll have the opportunity to lead the full project lifecycle on a wide variety of impactful projects in a live environment and be instrumental in shaping the future of one of the world\’s busiest airports. Our Operations projects team deliver schemes that support our Terminal Operations, Engineering and Security functions of the business. Project types cover reconfiguring existing layouts, refurbishing facilities and replacing end of life assets with projects ranging in size from £250k through to £30m. In each case, projects must deliver business benefits on time and on budget in support of the business plan. Do you have what we\’re looking for? In this role, London Gatwick is looking for a candidate who will report directly to the Operations Programme Manager, taking on a key leadership role in the team overseeing all project delivery. In the role, the successful candidate will be supporting a dedicated team of 20+ professionals. You will take ownership of the technical, commercial, and financial management of multiple projects at a variety of delivery stages from early project development through construction and into handover. You will ensure successful delivery against project and business goals. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong and experienced leader to join the Gatwick Construction team at a senior level and with a clear opportunity for future progression. Other duties include: Taking ownership of the identification and mitigation of risks that may adversely impact project delivery or adversely affect airport operations through the project/programme lifecycle. Overseeing the successful handover of assigned projects to Commercial Departments, including ensuring all requisite Airport Operational Readiness planning and activities are in place. Developing, motivating, and coaching staff within the project team, recognising talent and assisting the development of those with high potential. Ensuring compliance with all processes, legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role, including all standards and code compliance, and required planning permissions. Identifying lessons learnt across all projects and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Developing and maintaining a culture of world class health, safety, and environmental standards across the projects, delivering the highest levels of health, safety and environmental performance achievable. What are we looking for? The live environment at Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with exceptional problem solving skills and an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. As well as an in-depth knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations within the Construction industry, this role requires: A Degree or equivalent in programme management, engineering, or a construction related field Chartered Membership with a relevant professional organisation Experience in refurbishment projects in a live operation environment. Experience in project mobilisation and delivery phases. Experience in managing multiple, interfacing, concurrent projects Leadership of refurbishment projects in a live operational environment. Experience managing multiple stakeholders through project planning and delivery phases.
