  • Assures the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. Using in-house construction management procedures and experience, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control.
  • \\n

  • Responsible for performing field activities related to one area or discipline, monitoring day-to-day work of contractors/sub-contractors, reporting all potential safety and quality issues, assisting with cost, progress and materials reporting. Performs functions for one area of a project or a small project.
  • \\n

  • Oversees all aspects of a small area or single discipline of field construction on projects. Generally responsible for construction scope(s) with value up to $10M
  • \\n

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for construction and contractor related deliverables
  • \\n

  • Responsible for management and execution of a single field discipline or a subset of assigned construction project(s) in accordance with the requirements of the contract between the company and the client, and in accordance with the company's operating policies and principles.
  • \\n

  • Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality and safety standards and requirements specified for the project.
  • \\n

  • Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction.
  • \\n

  • Management of installation, commissioning and completion activities for some materials and equipment
  • \\n

  • Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control
  • \\n

  • Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions
  • \\n

  • Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements
  • \\n

  • Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on site construction. Utilise Commercial processes to capture variations effectively
  • \\n

  • Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract document specifications and in accordance with Wood Policies & Procedures
  • \\n

  • Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required
  • \\n

  • Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability.
  • \\n

  • Coordinates and supervises operational delivery of small team of site construction personnel, typically of a single discipline, does not have ongoing line management responsibility
  • \\n

  • Work requires the consideration of future implications beyond the immediate problem and is not closely supervised, although outputs are subject to managerial review. Work is performed under general direction and is reviewed for conformance with policies and general efficiency. Level of discretion is governed by established practices, procedures and policies.
  • \\n

  • Role has a considerable level of influence on medium term operational outcomes through the operational supervision of others.
  • \\n

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • Typically minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma / apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
  • \\n

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant industry
  • \\n
